The Allergy Consulting Service is designed to give support and guidance for successful diagnosis and treatment of atopy when referral to a specialist is not possible. Intradermal skin testing remains the gold standard for diagnosing atopy. However, in vitro serum testing to diagnose atopy avoids this tedious procedure and allows you to keep the diagnostic procedure in-house. With the support and guidance which I can provide on an individual basis, you can successfully manage the atopic patient with excellent results. In addition, I inventory antigens in quantity so I can provide individualized solutions and dosage regimes.

I will supply mailers containing history sheets and vials to submit serum samples to my office. Our office takes care of the laboratory procedure and evaluates the results.

If, after evaluation, I recommend immunotherapy, I will supply the proper set of antigens to you. You will bill your client directly. The price of solutions varies a bit depending on the number, type, and concentration of antigens. An average cost for the first 3 vials of the program is $135.00 These last approximately 4-6 months. A maintenance vial is approximately $115.00 and will last about 4-6 months. This will vary from patient to patient depending on the dose necessary to maintain control of symptoms. There is a one-time consultation fee of $25.00 when the initial 3-vial set is sent. Ongoing consultation regarding case management is at no additional fee, but is key to success with this therapy and condition.
 
Corticosteroid withdrawal times:

• Injectable corticosteroids: withdrawal time is 90 days
• Oral corticosteroids: withdrawal time is 30 days
• Topical corticosteroids (this includes ear medications): withdrawal time is 14 days

The Derm-Path Consulting Service can be of great assistance in the correct diagnosis and successful resolution of a host of skin diseases. There are several advantages to this service. All of your slides are read by a dermatopathologist, which allows for a very definitive dermatologic interpretation. My extensive clinical experience in the diagnosis and management of dermatologic conditions allows me to evaluate the pathology report, along with the history which has been provided, and to offer an accurate diagnosis. This is accompanied by therapy regime suggestions. Ongoing consultation is offered as a support service with no additional charge. This consulting service will allow you to pursue treatment of skin problems in greater depth and to reap rewards of problem resolution and client satisfaction.

Biopsy mailer envelopes include a history sheet and vial of fixative. Reusable biopsy punches will be provided free of charge upon request. Our office will handle laboratory processing, evaluation and interpretation, and report diagnosis and therapy back to you by FAX.
